Strasbourg, 27th October - West Midlands MEP Daniel Dalton has been tasked with writing a European Parliament report on non-tariff barriers in the single market. The report for the Internal Market Committee is aimed at identifying areas where the single market is not working properly.
Mr Dalton is asking businesses in the region to contact him at [email protected] with their experiences of discrimination against foreign companies and barriers to entry or trade whilst doing business within Europe.
Mr Dalton commented:
"This report is a fantastic opportunity to highlight problems British companies experience when trying to do business in Europe, and suggest ways to fix them."
"I am constantly being contacted by businesses in the West Midlands about problems they are having trading in Europe, and I would like to hear more from as many companies in the region as possible, their evidence will help me identify the key areas where the single market isn't working for British business."
"If this report is adopted by the European Parliament it will help lay the groundwork for further opening up European markets to Britain and the creation of a truly single market."
