WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin visited Croome Court to help to launch a new stamp celebrating the work of Capability Brown.
The legendary designer created Croome Park and his work is being celebrated in eight stamps issued by the Royal Mail today (August 16).
Harriett joined Croome Park’s head gardener Katherine Alker to view the gardens and help to launch the commemorative stamp marking his 300th birthday.
Harriett commented: “Croome Court is a great tourist attraction and I know many people come to visit to see the amazing gardens and the work of Capability Brown.
“He also designed the house at Croome so this whole site is a fabulous celebration of his talent.
“Croome has had such an interesting history with the world-famous gardens as well as a new museum celebrating the role of the secret RAF base during the Second World War so there is so much to see and do during a visit.
“It is great that a stamp will mark the famous gardens and help to celebrate the work of Capability Brown in the UK and all over the world.”
