WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin has wholeheartedly backed a community campaign to give free training and buy lifesaving medical equipment in Malvern.
The HeartStart campaign aims to raise £75,000 to buy 50 defibrillators for the town as well as free training for local people to use them.
Harriett was invited to help kick off the campaign at a formal launch event at Malvern Theatre last week (Friday 27th January).
Harriett commented: “There is already a growing network of defibrillators in the town and each extra one will make a huge difference to the chances of people surviving a heart attack. I congratulate the wonderful volunteers involved."
“Part of the campaign will help to train volunteers who can provide expertise and support when someone has a heart attack. Speed is always of the essence when dealing with people who have had a heart attack and this campaign will help to inform more people about the signs to look out for.
“I was happy to lend my support to this campaign, I am planning to book onto a training programme and I look forward to seeing lives saved thanks to this equipment across the town.”
