WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin has today responded to e-mail campaigners who oppose plans to convert schools to academies.
The MP has written to Education Secretary Nicky Morgan as part of a response to the Government’s consultation on fixing the national funding formula for county schools.
So-called ‘clicktivists’ have contacted Harriett about the proposals to convert all schools to academies and she confirmed that she has flagged local concerns as part of her consultation response.
Harriett said: “All of the secondary schools in West Worcestershire and some primary schools have already become academies.
“There are some local concerns about the challenges facing our amazing small village primary schools and the three tier system that exists in some parts of Worcestershire and I have made sure that the Secretary of State is aware.
“I am also keen to make sure that any new funding deal takes into account the costs of educating a smaller number of pupils.
“In addition, it is great news that a fair funding formula is coming to Worcestershire.”
