WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her support to three local primary schools converting to become academies.
Malvern Parish Primary School, Kempsey Primary School and Hanley Swan St Gabriel’s with St Mary’s Primary School were all confirmed as new academies by Education Secretary Justine Greening. The conversion took effect on April 1.
Harriett welcomed the announcements and offered her support to the schools as they take on the challenges of running the schools with additional freedom and independence.
Harriett commented: “It is great to see more schools choosing to become academies and I will do all I can to help each school thrive in this new environment.
“All these three new academies have a good Ofsted rating and we are seeing more and more primary schools thrive as academies in multi-academy trusts.
“All of our local schools have my full support as we campaign for fairer funding for Worcestershire schools.”
